Post-Conference Trip

We organize a pay-on-your-own (price TBD, estimation about 100-150 Euros) trip after REFSQ 2018 for the participants and guests. Please indicate your intention to join the trip at the registration system.

The trip will take place on the day after REFSQ 2018, Friday, March 23 2018. We will leave Utrecht in the morning to explore the following three venues and return back after our day-long adventure.

  1. Keukenhof is a 32 hectar garden full of daffodils, orchids, and you guessed right, tulips! Every year more than 7 million bulbs are planted and the garden provides a wonderful feast for your eyes. In 2018, the park is open between March 22 and May 13, just in time for the post REFSQ trip!

  2. Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam has the largest Van Gogh collection in the world. The paintings on exhibit include The Potato Eaters, Sunflowers, and Almond Blossoms among many others. The letters of Vincent Van Gogh to his family members provide us details of his life. The museum also is home for contemporaries of Van Gogh. Our trip coincides with the opening of a new exhibition, "Van Gogh and Japan".

  3. Volendam is a small Dutch village that has preserved its authentic culture. Once famous for its fishermen, the town attracts tourists with its beautiful port, traditionally built ships, and quality seafood. We will put a delicious end to our trip in the historical Hotel Spaander, which has been open since 1881. Art Hotel Spaander owns a unique collection of hundreds of paintings of the fishermen families, boats and harbour of the 1880-1930 period.

We will return back to Utrecht after dinner.
