Welcome to REFSQ'18Requirements Engineering (RE) is a critical factor in developing high-quality and successful software, systems and services. The REFSQ working conference series is an established international forum for discussing current and state-of-the-art RE practices, celebrating its 24th year. About REFSQThe REFSQ working conference is the leading European conference series on requirements engineering. It is the goal of REFSQ to foster the creation of a strong European RE community across industry and academia. Since 1994, Requirements Engineering continued to be a dominant factor influencing the quality of software, systems and services. REFSQ seeks contributions which report on novel ideas and techniques that enhance the quality of RE’s products and processes, as well as reflections on current research. REFSQ has a long tradition of being a highly structured and interactive forum. The special format of each session includes the three roles presenter, discussant, and session chair, yielding into highly interactive sessions, filled with discussions among the excellent researchers and industry experts. The Special theme for REFSQ 2018 is "RE and Digital Transformation"The special theme of REFSQ’18 is "RE and Digital Transformation" to emphasize an important issue: what role can RE play in the dramatic changes that take place in our society today to innovate and design new heterogeneous systems and services to fit the needs of users and to keep values of society. . REFSQ 2018 Special SectionFollowing the conference, the authors of two of the best manuscripts will be invited to extend their papers into full journal papers, for a Special Section of the Information and Software Technology. About UtrechtUtrecht is located in the very heart of the Netherlands, where the country’s road and rail networks intersect. With a population of more than 338,000, it is the fourth largest city in the Netherlands. Utrecht Central Station is the country’s largest train junction station and the city has one of the highest bicycle densities in the Netherlands.
